Well, we made it to Addis Ababa @ 9:30 this morning. A very uneventful flight--with one stop in Sudan to pick up some passengers. Our flight left out of Cairo last night @ 3am--so we are very tired. We made it to our hotel and took a 4 hour nap--could've slept more b/c we're exhausted!!
Walked around the city a little--bought some bottled water, some pop, and 2 snickers bars...yummy!! While we were walking around, there were tens of little children begging in the streets, and moms sitting with their babies asking for money. It really hit us that if we weren't adopting Levi...that could have been him. It might even have been the situation in which Levi and his mom were in before she relinquished him. Very Heartbreaking!!
On a lighter note...Ethiopia is beautiful (very green and lush). Lots of mountains, too. Can';t wait for tomorrow to meet Levi. Pray that we sleep well and are rested for tomorrow (Paperwork and the Big Meeting)!!
I'm going to close with a few things we've learned in our 4 day journey--
1. Don't get in a cab with someone who doesn't speak English and has never heard of your hotel.
2. I could teach a class on "Airline Pillow Origami--learn to fold your pillow just right"
3. Sleep apnea is a worldwide condition--as noted from the passenger beside me on the flight from Sudan to Ethiopia.
4. Don't ever exchange money with a man riding a camel!!
We are still amazed at what God has asked us to do in adopting Levi--we are thankful that this day has finally arrived!! GOD IS SO GOOD!!

p.s. will try to blog about our meeting Levi tomorrow!
