You Have the Right to Remain Silent, Anything You Say...

OK, so I didn't have the Miranda rights read to me, but that's what I think about when I have to get fingerprinted by the government. One of the stipulations in adopting internationally is that we have to be fingerprinted by the USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Services) in our initial paperwork, and those fingerprints have to be current throughout our entire travels. Well, the kicker is that they expire after one year. Ours expire in August, so Paul and I applied for an extension of our fingerprints and I'm not sure how long they will be good for once that's in effect.

Whose fingerprints change?? Why do they need us to update our fingerprints?? The only thing I can think of is that they want to see if we've had any run-ins with the law in the last year (which I can assure you we have not--not counting a ticket for running a red light. It totally turned red while I was under it!!!)

I digress...so, that's the latest update with adoption. We were hoping that we'd be traveling before our fingerprints expired and then we wouldn't have to update any paperwork, but that's not God's timing. Hopefully, it'll be a quick and easy extension with no extra paperwork involved...we'll see!

Thanks for praying!!
Mandy
