Wow!! Our court date was emailed to us today, and it's super exciting. June 10th, 2009. It's still hard to really grasp how close that is, and that in 21 days we may "officially" have our 3rd son.
So, if the judge says "Yes" (on the 10th) to our family adopting Levi, then we will be traveling to Ethiopia anywhere from 2.5-4 weeks later. If he says "no" then we will wait for another court date, and go through some more waiting. I feel like a dichotomy, wanting to say how easy it is that we are waiting on God's timing, but inside dying to fly to Ethiopia and bring him home now.
Practically speaking, we've got lots of things to prepare and do before he comes home...like learning a little of Amharic (the official language spoken in Ethiopia). Here's a few phrases that might come in handy when you meet Levi:
My name is...................Sih-MAY (insert name)
Hello..............................Seh-LAHM
I love you......................Eh-wuh-dih-HAH-loh
You are so special........Ahn-TEH beht-AHM lee-YOO nekh
Don't be afraid..............AH-teh-frah
Thanks for praying, and don't stop!! We need it!!
