A Little Nervous

OK, if Paul and I were to be 100% completely honest, we would have to admit to being nervous and anxious about the upcoming court date! We were talking tonight about how he and I are so accustomed to having dates and plans all in order and most details arranged, but with these next few weeks---there is nothing set in stone. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I think that's why we're going a little crazy.

The only thing we do know this summer is that we are adopting!! The rest is totally up in the air. We have 2 family vacations planned, Paul has a trip to Philly with the youth group that's up in the air, he has a week long speaking engagement this summer that's up in the air...when are we leaving for Ethiopia?? Who knows?? As it says in Proverbs, we have made our plans, but God will determine our steps (Mandy's American Version). We will wait and see what steps God has us taking this summer.

The closer we get to the 10th, the bigger the knot in my stomach gets. There are also 2 other families that will be represented in court that same day! If things go well for all of us, we could all be travelling together. Since 70% of families pass court (get a "yes") the first time, I found myself the other day trying to do the math. I figured that according to the statistics, one of the three families will not pass. But then, God has His own statistics...

Paul and I went on a date night tonight, and looked at some things that we'll need for our trip. I bought a crossword puzzle book (super important), because I love "crossies"! Our amazing friend, Kylie, will be doing some of our shopping for us. She's going to be buying all of our medicines, toiletries, diapers, wipes, etc. that we'll need for our trip!! What a lifesaver!!! Knowing that that is one less thing we have to worry about is awesome!!

I know that this has been a rambling of sorts, but I wanted you to know what's going on in the minds of Paul and Mandy!! We are excited, nervous, anxious (even though we're trying not to be), holding our breath, tired of waiting, and the list could go on. So, now you know how to pray for us!! And please don't stop!!

Counting down,
Mandy

A couple of cute pictures of the boys...

Landon's footwear of choice recently! He especially loves wearing his "space boots" to VBS!!
